Responsibilities
  • Ensure effective use of material, equipment and personnel in producing quality products at minimum cost
  • Provide guidance regarding design for manufacturability
  • DFM/DFA reviews & feedback to design
  • Assembly process feasibility assessment
  • BOM review & manufacturing alignment
  • Drawing & specification interpretation
  • Engineering change order (ECO) review & implementation
  • Prototype & pre‑production build support
  • Assembly process development & optimization
  • Assembly tooling & fixture design / procurement
  • First production build support & issue resolution
  • Determine and specify requirements for special assembly machines, equipment and tooling
  • Torque, adhesive & critical process parameter control
  • Operator training material development
  • Continuous improvement & cost reduction initiatives
  • Manufacturing transfer package preparation to include Standardized Work Instructions for off‑site Asia manufacturing facilities
  • Tooling & fixture documentation packages
  • BOM & configuration control for transfer
  • Asia site launch readiness assessment to include on‑site launch support, ramp assistance and operator & technician training delivery

Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering (master’s degree often preferred)
  • Experience: Minimum of five years’ applicable experience in the production and testing of electromechanical assemblies
  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of quality control fundamentals like GD&T, SPC, FMEA, Control Plans, and Lean Six Sigma methodologies
  • Skills/Technical Requirements: Experience with workflow processes in the fabrication, assembly and testing of electromechanical systems and components; intimate working knowledge of statistical process control methods; knowledge of design for manufacturability principles; must be computer literate; excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
