Role Overview

As a Forward Deployed Manufacturing Engineer, you will work directly with manufacturing teams to translate real-world build processes into structured, scalable workflows within BuildOS. You will act as a digital manufacturing engineer, helping customers move from legacy processes to a model-based, software-driven system. You will be deeply embedded during pilots and early deployments, ensuring customers not only understand the product-but successfully adopt it.

Responsibilities

Translate customer assembly processes into BuildOS workflows
Create and structure work instructions from CAD and engineering data
Lead onboarding and drive adoption during pilots and early deployments
Act as a trusted advisor to manufacturing, engineering, and operations teams
Identify inefficiencies in customer workflows and propose improvements
Partner with product and engineering to surface high-impact feedback
Support demos, technical evaluations, and customer check-ins

Qualifications

Background in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering
Experience working in or closely with manufacturing environments
Strong intuition for how things are built in the real world
Ability to break down and structure complex assembly workflows
Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
High ownership and comfort working directly with customers

Technical Background
