Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Venteon is currently seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to fill an opening with a manufacturing company located in Metro Detroit. The ideal candidates should have a background in engineering, ideally in seating, general assembly or welded assembly.

Requirements of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager
  • BSME or similar degree required
  • 5+ years of experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
  • Experience managing 5-10 engineers and technicians
  • Experience with automotive interior or seating systems preferred
  • PLEX experience a plus
  • Experience with general assembly or welded assembly processes a plus

Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager
  • Identify opportunities for and drive progress on Continuous Improvement efforts in the plant
  • Lead, train and develop team of Manufacturing / Process engineers
  • Manage capital projects for manufacturing lines within time and budget constraints
  • Act as subject matter expert on in-plant processes for final assembly of product including safety traceability, poke-yokes and EOL testing.
  • Process owner for manufacturing engineering department BOS (Business Operating System) processes, procedures, work instructions, standards, and forms. Create and revise BOS documents to support the responsibilities of the department.
  • Lead the performance of manufacturing engineering APQP elements and tasks for Product Development Plan gates and events.
  • Supports maintaining IATF16949:2016 and ISO14001:2015 accreditation.
