What We're Looking For:

This position is responsible for providing facilities and manufacturing support (continuous/process improvement and troubleshooting) in a regulated GMP environment, new equipment commissioning and validation, and technology improvement. The engineer requires a solid foundation and knowledge on a broad set of subjects ranging from electrical, mechanical and process engineering to effectively carry out various types of troubleshooting, design, and execution.
Designs, develops, analyzes, and implements manufacturing process repairs and improvements. Leads/supports various operational groups in determining root cause and resolution of equipment uptime and operational efficiencies. Supports various operational groups in cost reduction of existing products. Develops and implements process improvements to existing products to support cost reduction goals.
Day Shift: 7AM - 4PM / Mon - Fri
May need to support additional shifts
  • Troubleshoot urgent issues when manufacturing processes are not functioning as intended, using a solid understanding of science fundamentals (such as electronics, physics, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, etc.) and a broad skillset troubleshooting electrical systems, electronic components, mechanical systems, programmable controllers, etc.
  • Work on continuous improvement activities (from small process corrections to large capital improvement projects).
  • Executes cross-departmental projects. Acts as bridge between departments in the development of projects ensuring projected future requirements are in agreement with ongoing plans.
  • Works cooperatively with project owners and acts as a guide to ensure best engineering practices are applied.
  • Responsible for tracking project expenditures and keeping in line with project budgets.
  • Work with the Maintenance and Facilities team with the common goal of increasing facilities and equipment reliability and minimizing unplanned downtime.
  • Using risk-based thinking, develops, evaluates and improves manufacturing processes to improve operational efficiency and product quality through the collection, interpretation and analysis of data.
  • Supports the manufacturing processes on a daily basis by providing guidance, troubleshooting and technical expertise to resolve process related problems.
  • Utilizes a variety of continuous improvement strategies (e.g. Design of Experiments, lean manufacturing, statistical process control, etc.) in order to optimize manufacturing processes and testing techniques.
  • Maintains professional etiquette that exemplifies the guiding values of the organization.
  • Participates, leads, and facilitates teams and meetings in a way that promotes participation and teamwork.
  • Effectively implements, maintains and adheres to all facility environmental, health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintains work area organization and documentation to satisfy ISO and GMP standards.
  • Maintains good communication and working relationships with all departments and effectively functions within a team environment.
  • Designs, develops, and tests on a variety of manufacturing assignments that constitute a portion of a larger project
  • Develops and tests documentation which describes the specific manufacturing functionality
  • Runs tests designed by more experienced engineers
  • Reviews test results and perform root cause analyses to identify problems
  • Provides recommendations and implements solutions to complex issues. Insures compliance with quality process and standards
  • Makes changes to or upgrades existing mechanical designs. Enhances and improves existing technologies to apply to new solutions
  • Makes and implements recommendations to immediate team to enhance performance and improve productivity
  • Seeks out new tools to analyze and solve problems
  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
  • Receives general instructions on routine work, new projects or assignments
  • May provide guidance to non-exempt personnel
  • Builds productive working relationships internally and externally
  • Primary intra-organizational with occasional inter-organizational and external customer contacts on routine matters

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree Mechatronics. Machanical, Industial
  • 2+ years experience
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Required (safety glasses, steel-toed boots, gloves, etc.).
  • GMP knowledge for manufacturing.

Preferred Requirements:

  • System intergration experience
  • Machine Maintenance experience

Pay Range:

$76,640.00 - $114,960.00 Annual

Incentive Compensation:

In addition to base pay, Zebra offers this role the opportunity to earn a performance-based annual cash incentive, at a target equal to 10% of base pay, in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
