In this role, you will provide advanced manufacturing engineering support for the Florence manufacturing facility, leading strategic initiatives related to process optimization, equipment implementation, capacity expansion, and new product introduction. Working independently, you will drive measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost performance.

As a key technical resource, you will collaborate cross-functionally with production, quality, maintenance, supply chain, testing, and engineering teams to enhance manufacturing operations and support business objectives.

On a typical day you will:
  • Ensures manufacturing processes achieve safety, quality, productivity, and uptime objectives.
  • Leads root cause analysis and corrective actions utilizing 8D methodology with closure targets achieved within established timelines.
  • Oversees flawless implementation of engineering changes, CNs, and manufacturing process updates with minimal production disruption.
  • Designs and sustains robust manufacturing processes emphasizing safety, ergonomics, quality, efficiency, and Lean principles.
  • Supports certification of production yields, new product introductions, and cost reduction programs in conformance with company objectives.
  • Works closely with manufacturing engineering, quality, maintenance, testing, CNC programming, and operations teams to resolve technical issues and improve performance.
  • Maintains project portfolios and leads continuous improvement initiatives supporting annual productivity and cost-reduction objectives.
  • Plans, coordinates, trains, and supports production personnel during process changes, equipment implementations, and new product launches.
  • Provides technical support for plant layout, equipment procurement, automation projects, equipment upgrades, and feasibility studies.
  • Identifies and implements improvements in processing efficiencies, capacity, energy consumption, safety, environmental performance, and operational effectiveness.
What you will need to be successful:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (BS/BA).
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or industrial engineering preferred.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience with demonstrated project leadership and implementation responsibility preferred.
  • Proven experience leading projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and value stream mapping.
  • AutoCAD and 3D modeling experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization to drive change and continuous improvement.
