Job Description

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Manufacturing Engineering team and provide day-to-day technical ownership within our production operations.

This role is designed as an area-based, embedded engineering position, working directly alongside production employees, leads, and supervisors to ensure safe, efficient, and repeatable operations. While this position will initially support our Pick / Pack operations, all Embedded Manufacturing Engineers are cross-trained and expected to rotate between production areas as they become seasoned.

This is not a desk-based or project-only role — it is a hands-on position focused on daily execution, process stability, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do

Daily Production Support

  • Provide real-time engineering support to production teams to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and labor targets are met
  • Respond quickly to process disruptions, flow issues, material constraints, and quality concerns
  • Support shift startups, staffing changes, and daily production priorities

Process Ownership & Standard Work

  • Own and maintain standard work, labor standards, and visual controls for assigned areas
  • Improve process flow, ergonomics, layout, and material presentation
  • Identify and eliminate waste, variation, and rework

Quality & Error Prevention

  • Partner with QA to reduce errors, defects, and customer escapes
  • Implement mistake-proofing, visual management, and verification methods
  • Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions

Continuous Improvement & 6S

  • Lead CI efforts within assigned departments, including 6S and visual management
  • Drive small, fast improvements with operators and leads
  • Support larger improvement initiatives under the guidance of the Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Production Supervisors and Leads on daily execution
  • Partner with Maintenance on equipment reliability and uptime improvements
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain, EHSS, Facilities, and QA as needed

What Success Looks Like

  • Stable, predictable production flow in assigned areas
  • Improved throughput, labor efficiency, and schedule adherence
  • Reduced errors, scrap, and rework
  • Clear, usable standard work and visual controls
  • Strong trust and partnership with production teams
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
    • 3–7 years of experience in manufacturing, production engineering, or operations support
    • Hands-on experience in high-volume or fulfillment-style operations preferred
    • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement tools
    • Comfortable working directly on the production floor in a fast-paced environment
    • Bilingual Spanish preferred

Skills & Attributes We’re Looking For

    • Strong practical problem-solving skills
    • Ownership mindset with a bias toward action
    • Able to balance daily production support with longer-term improvements
    • Collaborative and effective without formal authority
    • Interested in learning multiple production environments over time
