(LGESMI) we develop and manufacture lithium-ion batteries that power automotive technology and other energy storage systems. We partner with some of the more recognizable car brands in the world.

Description:
As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern at LG Energy Solution, you will be assisting and supporting an Engineer in one of the three major battery-manufacturing departments. The specific learning objectives for the intern would be to learn general battery production process; understand battery materials – strength and composition; practical application of locking mechanisms and fasteners.


Responsibilities: At LGESMI you will working directly with our Manufacturing/Production Engineers and will be working on projects that include:

  • Work with engineers and operators to troubleshoot the machines on the production floor to ensure highest yield and Optimal Equipment Efficiency
  • Interface with team members in the plant and office, as well as external suppliers, contractors, etc.
  • Evaluate existing procedures and production methods for opportunities to improve quality and efficiency
  • Improve production processes by creating various standard operating procedures ensure understanding and correct implementation to floor
  • Develop procedures, forms, checklists, and schedules to support process development and improvement
  • Research new technologies, equipment, supplies to help improve the operation

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering -Junior or Senior standing
  • Minimum GPA requirement of 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, presentation
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to new tasks and projects
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated teamwork and effectiveness in accomplishing goals
  • Korean English Bilingual Strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to commute and work one in Lansing, MI facility. with a valid driver's license and a transportation.
