Location: All US Manufacturing Sites
Job Summary
The Woodshop Technician supports Plaskolite operations by fabricating, modifying, repairing, and maintaining wood-based fixtures, pallets, crates, racks, guards, and custom shop builds used in production, warehousing, and facility support. This role works closely with Production, Maintenance, Safety, and Engineering teams to ensure wood structures and fixtures are safe, functional, and meet operational requirements. The Woodshop Technician is expected to work independently, follow specifications, and maintain a safe and organized work area.
This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality-reflecting Plaskolite's core values of Integrity and Improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Fabricate, assemble, modify, and repair wood products including pallets, crates, racks, tables, guards, dunnage, and custom fixtures to support manufacturing and warehouse operations.
  • Read and interpret work orders, drawings, sketches, measurements, and verbal instructions to complete woodshop projects accurately.
  • Measure, cut, drill, sand, and assemble wood materials using hand tools and power tools such as saws, drills, sanders, nail guns, and routers.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure structural integrity, proper dimensions, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Repair or reinforce damaged wood fixtures, pallets, and supports to extend usability and reduce waste.
  • Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and Safety teams to design or adjust fixtures based on operational needs.
  • Maintain woodshop equipment and tools; perform basic preventative maintenance and report equipment issues as needed.
  • Follow all plant safety rules, PPE requirements, and lockout/tagout procedures when applicable.
  • Keep the woodshop area clean, organized, and compliant with 5S and housekeeping standards.
  • Manage material usage responsibly, including proper storage and disposal of scrap wood and waste.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by recommending improvements to designs, materials, or processes.
  • Perform other facility or maintenance support tasks as assigned, consistent with skills and training.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
  • Basic Experience fabricating or repairing pallets, crates, or similar shop-built structures.
  • 0-1 year Experience using hand and power tools such as table saws, miter saws, drills, sanders, nail guns, and measuring tools.
