Job Description
DUTIES: Responsible for Design for Manufacturing of major engineering projects involving part designs, injection molds, resin material, cost control and value optimization, injection modeling equipment, supplier management, and plant and manufacturing processes in a centralized manufacturing engineering environment where a considerable amount of creativity and initiative is exercised. Work collaboratively with a diverse group of engineers, cross-functional engineers, or other engineering support personnel to drive quality into part designs and manufacturing processes through the entire program development cycle from part surface creation to mold validation. Lead suppliers in the development of thermoplastic parts and molds that produce optimal assemblies in the support of the Production Part Approval Process. Lead suppliers in the development of optimized molding process conditions that yield high quality parts at reduced cycle times during mold variations. Hybrid Work Policy - 3 days In-office, 2 days remote - Must be able to report to local office.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Plastics, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field of study and Three (3) years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, Senior Process Engineer, Junior Process Engineer or related occupation. Three (3) years of experience with injection molds including components and functions; and part design, tooling and process variables including cost and high quality strategies. Two (2) years of experience with Unigraphics NX; Injection mold filling analysis including Autodesk-Moldflow; and Injection modeling machines. One (1) year of experience with Class A surface appearance requirements in the automotive industry associate with as-molded, painted, chromed, and metalized parts.
