Job description

To effectively perform the duties of Plant Manager in an efficient manner within company policies and procedures. To manage the Production Manufacturing department to ensure that all day-to-day operations run smoothly. To ensure that all efforts contribute to the best financial interests of Transpacific Processing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

· Cultivate and promote a positive and innovative work environment

· Monitor productivity and reduce waste, reduction of costs including over time

· Oversee all aspects of daily production

· Oversee that products are manufactured within customer specifications

· Manage the progress of efficiencies and the handling processes of all products

· Responsible for daily completion and routing of all production documentation

· Responsible for product integrity of all finished product leaving Transpacific Processing

· Responsible for holding weekly Safety “Tool Box” meetings with all production associates

· Responsible for ensuring accuracy of label, label placement, tie high’s, and correct wrap processes for

all finished packaging

· Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and records are kept on a regular basis (to include trucks, trailers, and forklifts)

· Conduct monthly inventories on all packaging and supplies and balance against perpetual inventories

· Schedule and implement Plant meetings with agendas on a monthly basis

· Responsible for all documentation creation, implementation, and retention in regard to SQF, FISMA,

GAP, PRIMUS and all other audits conducted at Transpacific Processing pertaining to Plant training, production processes, associate accountability, and safety compliance.

· Assist TPF with any production needs they may have and keep an open line of communication

to ensure that all needs and timelines are met

· Responsible for the training, testing, documentation, and performance evaluation of all Plant

associates

· Responsible for meeting or exceeding Plant budgets

· Responsible for working with 3rd party vendors for parts sourcing, machine servicing, and capital

planning

· Responsible for conducting and documenting monthly Plant walkthroughs with corrective actions and

abatement dates

· Responsible for keeping Plant “Inspection Ready” at all times

· Responsible for keeping Plant in “6 –S” status at all times

· Responsible for meeting all internal and external, 3rd party and regulatory audits

· Responsible for reporting any food safety concern and empowered to do so

LABOR CONTROL

· Work shifts as scheduled or needed

· Achieve established benchmarks by working with a sense of urgency

· Meet all schedules as required

· Experience degree with relevant experience or a minimum 5 years industry experience

· Attend suggested and required seminars and training classes for continued improvement

· Must possess good written and verbal skills

· Present during all audit visits to the Plant

· Implement systematic planned improvement using lean manufacturing pricing

· Develop short term and long-term capital plans

· Follow and enforce all GMP

· Ensure that all TPP policies, procedure and practices are adhered to and followed

· Keep an open line of communication with dispatch, peers, supervisors, departments and management

· Oversees scheduling of Plant associates, including vacations and holidays

· Monitors and administers any necessary discipline, along with Human Resource Manager

· Assists in the development and implementation of any new processes or policies

· Works with outside vendors to resolve problems

· Conducts internal and external inspections as needed

· Leads subordinates by example with regards to performance, neatness, safety, reliability and following company policy

· Keep current on industry

· Be a lifelong learner and change agent

· All other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

· HACCP, SQF Certifications

· Bachelor degree in business (or comparable) and five years of responsible experience in food

production; or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Good skill in the use of hand and power tools.

· Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

· Ability to write effective correspondence and communicate.

· Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other

employees of the organization.

· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common

fractions, and decimals.

· Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret miscellaneous drawings and schematics.
