Job description

Pilkington is a highly acclaimed and international organization that is currently hiring production employees who are eager to build their careers. Our Company is dedicated to offering the highest quality products on the market today. We are the world's leading supplier of glass and glazing systems to the automotive and building sectors.

Pilkington in Laurinburg, NC has direct hire maintenance positions. The maintenance employee performs a wide variety of assignments ranging from equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, mechanical and electrical tasks.

Our maintenance position(s) starting pay is between $32.06 - $34.31 an hour. We are a skill-based organization that you can receive pay increases based on additional skills learned. 

Primary Duties:

  • Provide technical assistance on all shifts in identifying and correcting problems in the process control systems throughout the Laurinburg process.
  • Identify and solve problems arising in computerized process control equipment. This includes:

Furnace line controls

CBG line controls

Servo drive systems

CNC Grinder and Cutting controllers

Plant Electrical Distribution system

Service control subsystems.

Robotics

  • Document the problems which occur and any corrective action taken in.
  • Work with other Maintenance personnel troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical breakdowns.
  • Special projects as assigned working in small teams utilizing problem-solving tools.
  • Implementing improvements to decrease the number of breakdowns.
  • Working in small teams developing PM tasks to increase equipment reliability.
  • Improve equipment knowledge by participating in scheduled technical training on new and existing equipment.
  • Participate in new equipment planning, installations, and implementation

Job Requirements: 

  • At least two years formal education leading to a two-year AAS in industrial technology, industrial electronics or similar, or multiple one-year accredited industrial maintenance certificates.
  • OR 2-5 years continuous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, along with an accredited industrial maintenance certificate
  • OR 5+ years of continuous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment

If a person meets these requirements, they have to pass a written and hands-on testing. 

We offer an excellent compensation and benefits package, which includes 401k, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, company paid holidays, and paid vacations.
