About the role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Manufacturing Test Engineer supports the development, deployment, and maintenance of production test systems in Operations. This role performs technical, multidisciplined work to improve manufacturing quality, performance, and throughput, while acting as a critical liaison between Operations and R&D.

This position is onsite at our Austin, Texas production facility.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

  • Support the design, deployment, and maintenance of production test systems
  • Troubleshoot test stand issues and implement corrective actions
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and technical documentation
  • Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Product Management, and crossfunctional teams
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using VES Lean Manufacturing tools
  • Support new product introduction and transfer from R&D to Operations

The essential requirements of the job include

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • 1-3 years of experience designing, deploying, or supporting production test systems in a manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of PCBA manufacturing processes, with the ability to read PCBA schematic diagrams to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and test-system issues
  • Experience with automated testing and test equipment used in manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with manufacturing quality and process control tools (e.g., pFMEA, Gauge R&R)
  • Experience in creating and maintaining technical documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)

It would be nice if you possess:

  • Familiarity with test software design
  • Familiarity with PCBA design principles and design-for-test (DFT) concepts
  • Experience using bench test equipment such as digital multimeters, power supplies, and source measurement units
  • Experience with mechanical engineering tools, CAD, or related engineering software

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. The compensation range for this role is $70,000 - $90,000 USD per year.
