Job description


Job Title: Shift Supervisor

Department: Manufacturing

Position Description: Manufacturing supervisory position with responsibility focused upon the supervision and development of manufacturing associates.

Primary Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

-Directly supervise manufacturing department maintaining company standards and safety rules.

-Communicate daily priorities and activities to manufacturing team.

-Interpret company policy for associates.

-Control plant logistics cost by appropriate use of freight carrier

-Coordinate shift efforts to optimize workflow and associate potential.

-Improve stand operation work and system practices.

-Support the Clarion TS16949 or related required applicable standards.

-Update daily production tracking system, making sure data is correct and closed.

Additional Responsibilities:

-Assign daily work tasks for manufacturing associates, ensuring proper job rotation.

-Initiate First Piece Approval activities.

-Respond to and resolve associate questions, concerns, and improvement suggestions.

-Identify equipment improvements/repairs and initiate work orders.

-Ensure proper packaging and supplies are available for associates use.

-Assist associates with daily functions, running a press and assisting R/Os.

-Complete and issue employee reviews.

-Lead shift to shift hand-off and communication.

-Update customer service as problems affects customer needs.

-Participate and lead, as needed internal problem solving/improvement activities.

-Other duties as assigned by management.

Other Requirements:

-Associate’s degree or one year of experience or training in a related field

-Ability to apply common computer skills, includes Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

-Must be able to effectively lead others.

-Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of associates.

-Ability to read and interpret documents including safety rules, operating instructions, and system docs.

-Perform basic math functions – addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.

-Ability to actively participate in problem solving activities.

-Moderate to heavy physical activity including walking, pushing/pulling, and lifting.

-Must be willing to support overtime during the week and weekends.
