Overview

Role: Packaging/Shipping

Department: Shipping

Reporting To: Warehouse Supervisor

To perform team functions necessary to accomplish transformer production requirements to ensure customer on time delivery

 

Responsibilities

Position responsibilities as follows:

Prepare finished transformers and components for shipment by selecting appropriate packaging materials and methods.

Secure products using straps, shrink wrap, crates, or pallets to ensure safe transportation.

Apply correct labels, shipping tags, and documentation according to customer specifications and regulatory requirements.

Inspect packaged items for accuracy and quality before release to shipping.

Maintain a clean and organized packaging area and comply with safety standards.

Operate packaging equipment and tools safely and perform routine checks as needed.

Collaborate with production teams to resolve quality concerns and provide feedback for process improvements.

Collaborate with shipping and production teams to meet delivery schedules and resolve packaging issues promptly.

Provides additional backup support for shipping and receiving departments.

Helps manage the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies.

Collaborates and communicates with Warehouse Supervisor, logistics technicians, customer service representatives, service providers, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products.

Updates Warehouse Supervisor of the status of incoming and outgoing shipments.

Maintains an accurate log sheet of daily moves, inventory, and counting accurately.

Engages with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.

Provides additional backup support for shipping and receiving departments.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements:

Bending, twisting, stooping, and pulling.

Be able to stand for long periods at a time.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

Position contingent on passing all applicable fit for duty requirements.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical or quality-related certification preferred.

Experience in packaging or shipping within a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Ability to read and interpret work orders and shipping instructions.

Basic knowledge of packaging materials and methods for heavy industrial products

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to lift and move heavy items safely (up to 50 lbs).

6 months logistics experience.

Forklift Certification within 90 days of job entry date.
