Job description

Position Summary

Classic Turning, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented CMM Technician to join our Quality Department. This position is responsible for performing CMM inspections, developing and maintaining CMM programs, verifying product quality throughout the manufacturing process, and supporting production by providing accurate inspection data. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to producing high-quality products.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Program, maintain, and optimize Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) inspection programs.
  • Perform CMM inspections to verify conformance of machined parts to engineering drawings and customer specifications.
  • Verify in-process parts to ensure product quality throughout manufacturing.
  • Assist production personnel in interpreting and understanding CMM inspection results.
  • Support the Gage Crib by assisting with calibration of gauges and measuring equipment.
  • Review job-related documentation, including drawings, work instructions, and process documentation, for completeness and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality Engineers, and Quality Technicians to ensure accurate inspection requirements and documentation are available.
  • Train machine operators and machinists on running established CMM part programs.
  • Perform special projects and assignments as delegated by management.

  • Complete all required administrative documentation accurately and on time.
  • Actively participate in company-wide continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work diligently to reduce the potential for nonconforming products.
  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment by following all safety procedures.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
