Job Description SummaryAt our Salt Lake City site, engineering, research, and manufacturing teams come together to design and build surgical imaging technologies - including advanced C-arm imaging systems that support image-guided procedures for clinicians across the globe. The work here contributes to the precision and capability clinicians bring into the OR every day.
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician 1 supports manufacturing operations by partnering with engineers and production teams to keep the manufacturing floor running efficiently. This hands-on role troubleshoots equipment and process issues, supports assembly and test operations, collects and analyzes production data, and helps implement process improvements for advanced medical imaging systems. The position also plays a key role in maintaining manufacturing documentation, supporting new product introductions, and ensuring products are built to quality and regulatory standards.Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities
  • Assist manufacturing engineers in the design, development, and improvement of production processes, fixtures, and tooling.

  • Perform basic troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment and processes, escalating complex issues to higher-level technicians or engineers.

  • Collect and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and support process optimization initiatives.

  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams.

  • Conduct time studies and participate in lean manufacturing activities to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

  • Support the implementation and validation of new products and processes on the production floor.

  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration of manufacturing equipment as directed.

  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and quality standards (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA regulations).

  • Collaborate with production personnel to resolve manufacturing issues and ensure smooth operations.

  • Participate in root cause analysis for production defects and non-conformances.


Required Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in a technical field (e.g., Manufacturing Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology) or High School diploma and minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.

  • Proficiency with basic hand tools and measurement equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers).

  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).

  • Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a medical device or electronics industry.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
