Manual Machinist (Bridgeport Mills & Lathes) – 1st Shift | Sterling Heights, MI

Location: Sterling Heights, MI
Shift: 1st Shift (Day Shift)
Job Type: Full-Time

We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist with strong experience operating Bridgeport mills, manual lathes, and traditional machining equipment. This role is ideal for a hands-on machinist with “old school” craftsmanship, including brazing experience, who takes pride in precision work. Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate manual milling machines (Bridgeport) and engine lathes
  • Perform precision machining on a variety of metal components
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Perform layout work, drilling, tapping, boring, and threading
  • Execute brazing operations as required for assembly or repair
  • Maintain tight tolerances and ensure high-quality workmanship
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary adjustments
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience as a Manual Machinist in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong experience with Bridgeport mills and manual lathes (required)
  • Hands-on experience with brazing
