Job description

Position Summary

The Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating manual machining equipment to produce high‐precision solid and porous metal components to close tolerances. This role requires strong hands‐on manual machining experience, attention to detail, and the ability to meet stringent dimensional, visual, and cleanliness requirements. The Machinist plays a critical role in delivering quality products that support mission‐critical applications.

This position requires demonstrated experience in manual machining. CNC experience alone is not sufficient.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate manual machining equipment to machine solid and porous metal components
  • Machine high‐purity porous metal products to exact specifications
  • Perform straightening, rounding, fitting, and assembly operations as required
  • Interpret blueprints, work instructions, and specifications accurately
  • Use precision measuring tools to verify dimensional and visual quality
  • Maintain cleanliness standards required for high‐purity products
  • Support flexible production needs by adapting to changing priorities
  • Follow safety, quality, and standard work practices aligned with operating principles

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1–2+ years of hands‐on manual machining experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Technical school training in machining strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to read blueprints and use measuring equipment
  • Experience machining to close tolerances on metal components
  • Experience with manual lathes, mills, or similar equipment is required
