Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

We are looking for a qualified Production Planner Scheduler/ Controller to organize production according to demand and quality standards. You will be the one to ensure our goods are produced on time for distribution in a profitable manner. An excellent production planner is well-versed in production procedures and ways to optimize them. They are organized and results-driven with great problem-solving skills.

  • Maintain the production schedule and other reports as required.
  • Follow-up as required with all teams to expedite flow of materials and documents to meet production schedule and customer expectation.
  • Interact with shop floor management daily to resolve issues regarding manufacturing efficiencies.
  • Coordinate production workflow for multiple products.
  • Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay.
  • Determine manpower, equipment and components needed to cover production demand.
  • Schedule shift per production needs; monitor jobs to ensure they will finish on time and within budget.
  • Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption.
  • Prepare and submit status and performance reports.
  • Collaborate with quality control, warehouse, procurement, and other staff.
  • Build quality into work. Ensure processes are consistent with quality objectives; be aware of current quality levels versus target levels.
  • Develop and achieve departmental/company goals and controls; make suggestions for improvement in areas of cost reduction, processes, quality, and productivity.
  • Coordinate on-site suppliers.
  • Support and actively participate in Continuous Improvement activities E.G. Lean, Six Sigma
  • Perform related tasks as assigned.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Associate degree highly preferred with proven experience as production planner.
  • Excellent knowledge of production planning and quality control principles.
  • Experience in MRP II (Manufacturing resource planning).
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems (SAP highly preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office โ€“ Word, Excel, and Outlook) and MS Projects.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
