Job description

Our client, a leading facilities management organization, is seeking an Operating Engineer to join their team. As an Operating Engineer, you will be part of the building operations support team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Operating Engineer 

Location: Nashville, TN

Pay Range: $28-30/hr

Shift: Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

What's the Job?

  • Maintain and update the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) with accurate information for all building operating systems and completed work orders
  • Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire life safety equipment
  • Execute preventive maintenance services on building systems and equipment, ensuring optimal performance
  • Respond promptly to service requests, completing work professionally and efficiently while minimizing disruption
  • Assist with installations of new equipment and replacement of existing systems to support facility upgrades

What's Needed?

  • High school diploma or GED
  • EPA Universal certification
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in building maintenance including electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience working with computerized work order systems and CMMS platforms
