Job description

The Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) plays a vital role in ensuring safe and efficient surgical procedures within a small team environment. This position involves maintaining sterile conditions, managing surgical equipment, and closely monitoring patient status throughout operations. The OR RN collaborates with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other medical staff to deliver exceptional patient care and uphold infection control standards.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain sterile field and ensure aseptic technique during surgeries
  • Manage surgical instruments and equipment before, during, and after procedures
  • Continuously monitor patient status in the operating room
  • Collaborate effectively with a small surgical team of 3-5 members
  • Document surgical procedures, patient information, and updates accurately
  • Implement infection control protocols to minimize risk

Required Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in perioperative nursing
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Proficiency in perioperative nursing and sterile technique
  • Strong patient assessment and anesthesia awareness skills
  • Excellent team communication and critical thinking abilities
  • Knowledge of infection control standards and practices
