PCB Assembly Technician

A Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Assembler constructs, populates, and solders electronic components onto bare circuit boards to create functional electronic assemblies. They translate engineering schematics into finished hardware, using both manual hand tools and automated manufacturing equipment while adhering to strict quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpreting Documentation: Read and analyze engineering schematics, assembly drawings, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and work instructions.
  • Component Preparation: Pre-form, trim, and prepare electronic components (e.g., resistors, capacitors, integrated circuits) for installation.
  • Assembly Execution: Perform both Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and Through-Hole (PTH) assembly by placing components accurately onto the board.
  • Soldering: Utilize soldering irons, wave soldering machines, and reflow ovens to create secure, defect-free electrical connections.
  • Equipment Operation: Set up, program, and operate automated manufacturing equipment like Pick and Place machines and solder paste stencil printers.

· · Quality Control: Inspect completed boards using visual aids, microscopes, or automated optical inspection (AOI) e quipment to verify polarity, alignment, and solder joint integrity.
