Based in Milwaukee, WI, we operate the largest fresh 48 state LTL consolidation pool with more than 100+ trucks, and offer multiple sites with cooler, and air-conditioned storage, distribution, and cross-docking services.  We operate refrigerated and non-refrigerated warehouses for storage needs but also Value-Added Services such as specialty packing, kitting, and fulfillment needs. General Position Overview

The Regional Operations Manager, Warehousing & Fulfillment, is directly responsible for the overall performance of the VAS Operations and all the employees reporting to them. This manager will have regular regional travel to visit sites as needed to ensure the following: safe work environment, exceptional sanitation, respectful and dignified treatment with all persons within the workplace, deliver quality performance through developing a culture where employees excel, relentlessly strive for improvement, anticipating issues and creatively solving problems and maintaining customer relations.

General Accountabilities Include:

  • Regular punctual attendance is a requirement of this position
  • Knowledge of and adherence to all personal safety, food safety and food defense training and policies
  • Ensure compliance to all MRS and regulatory policies & procedures

  • Monitoring attendance, breaks and lunches
  • Interface with other business units and across functions
  • Back-up to the Crisis Management Team Leader, Recall Leader
  • Back-up to supervisors and customer service functions
  • Expected to work additional shift to cover office staff, Supervisors and General Managers PTO

Task Specifics:

  • Nurture a safety minded culture
  • Participate in incident investigations
  • Maintain high sanitation standards
  • Direct supervision of warehouse supervisors and employees
  • Providing productive feedback to subordinates and establishing development plans
  • Initiates and administers appropriate disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • OS & D and claim investigation and resolution
  • Identify WMS system issues and work with IT for resolution
  • Participate in off-hours meetings and trainings
  • Participate in budget planning and adherence to budget

Skills Required:

  • Ability to work in a range of temperatures
  • Ability to read/write in English
  • Basic math/computer skills
  • Ability to function & lead effectively in a team & fast paced environment
  • Ability to follow & give instructions effectively
  • Ability to safely bend and twist repeatedly
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
  • Strong leadership, financial acumen, problem-solving abilities, and proficiency with business software.

Prerequisites:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of management experience in multi-site operations, logistics, or related industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or related field preferred.
  • Experience operating forklift or pallet jack(a plus)
  • Previous experience managing teams in a warehouse environment (preferred)
  • Previous experience with RF controlled inventory systems
  • Previous experience handling food products (a plus)
  • HACCP Certification
