Description:

At Butternut Mountain Farm, a second-generation, Vermont family-owned company, we proudly package and ship pure maple syrup year-round — not just during sugaring season. As one of the largest packers of pure maple syrup in the U.S., we’re looking for a dependable, dedicated CDL truck driver to join our trucking team in Morrisville, Vermont.


As a CDL truck driver, this is steady, hands-on work is responsible for moving our precious maple cargo along with other materials. Your route may vary from driving from warehouse to warehouse or to designations throughout the area delivering or picking up maple syrup drums/totes. You will be joining a team of skilled drivers and will need to work well in a team environment as well as independently. A strong background in material handling is important. Drivers will help assist in loading/unloading trucks at our warehouse as well as off-site sugar houses. Drivers can expect to rotate between driving responsibilities week to week and become proficient in other warehouse skills.

Requirements:

Primary Responsibilities include:

· Operating CDL-licensed truck in compliance with all applicable state and federal transportation laws and regulations.

· Transporting loads safely and in a timely manner over required route, obeying all traffic laws and observing all safety regulations.

· Can demonstrate safely maneuvering trucks/trailers into loading and unloading areas; follows loading crew signals and safety protocols.

· Interface with an online GPS system.

· Utilize handheld computers/tablets to scan and transact inventory as well as access sugar makers addresses and phone numbers.

· Assist with loading and unloading goods and materials, using specialized equipment such as 55 and 40-gallon drum grabbers.

· End of day cleanup such as unloading empty skids and returning all equipment to designated area.

· Maintains signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other required paperwork; delivers documentation to shipping office or other appropriate staff when delivery route is complete.

· Facilitates routine service on trucks, which may include checking oil, water, gasoline, and air; reports maintenance malfunctions to Warehouse Logistics Manager.

· Participate in annual safety training or as required by the task.

· Arrange trailers in shipping area for optimum loading patterns.

· Must be customer service driven as this position has direct contact with customers and producers

To perform this position:

· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.

· Must be able to load and unload heavy pallets loaded with drums/totes/materials with a forklift in various types of weather.

· Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

· Minimum of three years CDL driving experience

· Forklift Certification preferred

Hours:

Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM
