Job Description

THE OPPORTUNITY:
Job Title:                                             SQL Server Developer / Database Developer
Duration:                                             1 year contract with extension/conversion possible, barring budget and performance
Location:                                             Highlands Ranch, CO
Position Description:
The successful candidate will be part of a team to design and develop browser-based middle tier and front-end applications for the Prepaid suite of products using Visual Studio.NET.
    Working with senior application development staff, assist with the design and development of complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
    Perform unit and integration testing on newly developed components.
    Assist with troubleshooting and resolving incidents during the software development lifecycle.
    Must be a dynamic thinker in an advanced team-oriented development environment.
Responsibilities include:
    Analyze and develop applications using SQL Server 2012/2014 utilizing Visual Studio and TFS. This includes but is not limited to Stored Procedures, Views, table maintenance and SSRS. (REQUIRED - very important)
    Knowledge and experience with .Net CLR development is a plus.
    Interpreting program specifications.
    Design, develop, document and implement new functionality, as well as enhancements, modifications, and corrections to existing software.
    Create documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.
    Develop or modify SQL queries and stored procedures to meet business requirements and achieve desired performance (REQUIRED - very important)
    Perform tests and produce results to ensure accurate compliance with project request requirements.
    Must have experience in all phases of software development life cycle including project management, functional requirements definition, technical design, development, testing, quality assurance, system certification, systems implementation and system validation. (REQUIRED - very important)
    Build and maintain relationships with global and virtual teams on software development or support issues
    Work as part of a development team and establish close working relationships with stake holders, quality assurance, architects, as well as management.
    Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in developing and supporting web applications for large corporations.
    Minimum of 5 or more years of experience using SQL Server 2008 or later.
    Strong technical, estimating, design and analytical aptitude.
    Ability to provide oversight for design deliverables and development tasks.
    Consistently able to assess and evaluate problems and manage risk to the service when recommending change.
    In-depth knowledge of the software development life cycle required specifically Agile methodologies
    Strong communication skills with proven ability to present complex ideas and document in a clear and concise way.
    Quick learner; self-starter, detailed and thorough.
    Multitasking between designs, development, and defect resolution.
    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems or other technical discipline

Qualifications

Must Have:
    SDLC and in-depth SQL experience required.
    Minimum 5 years of professional SQL experience.

    Must be a self-starter and willing to take limited direction from senior staff.
    Must be present in the office during work hours with ability to work from home in limited scenarios.
