Job description

RF Engineer Washington, DC / Onsite Blu Omega is seeking an RF Engineer to support future program opportunities for a federal program focused on advanced communications and radio frequency systems. This role operates within a federal and defense environment and is responsible for design, analysis, integration, testing, and sustainment of RF and communications systems. The position requires experience supporting RF engineering and communications engineering functions within mission-driven environments. Program Overview Mission overview: Support advanced communications and radio frequency systems for federal and defense missions. Key Details Location: Washington, DC Metro Area / National Capital Region (NCR) Clearance: Active Secret, Top Secret, or TS/SCI Work Authorization: U.S. Citizenship required Schedule: Primarily onsite. Hybrid may be available depending on customer/program requirements. Travel requirements vary by contract. Responsibilities * Design, develop, integrate, and evaluate RF and communications systems supporting mission-critical environments * Analyze RF system performance, including link budgets, propagation characteristics, interference sources, and spectrum utilization * Support development and testing of wireless, satellite, tactical, and secure communications solutions * Perform laboratory, field, and operational testing of RF hardware and communications equipment * Conduct troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and performance optimization of RF systems and subsystems * Support antenna selection, placement, modeling, and performance evaluation activities * Develop technical documentation, engineering reports, test procedures, and system assessments * Collaborate with systems engineers, software engineers, cybersecurity teams, program managers, and government stakeholders * Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, security requirements, and program objectives Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline * Experience supporting RF engineering, communications engineering, systems integration, or related technical functions * Knowledge of RF fundamentals, including electromagnetic theory, signal propagation, modulation techniques, antenna systems, spectrum management, and RF measurements and testing * Experience analyzing and troubleshooting RF or communications systems * Ability to communicate technical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences * Active U.S. government security clearance at the Secret level or higher * U.S. Citizenship required Preferred Qualifications * Active Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance * Experience supporting DoD, Intelligence Community, Space, or Federal Civilian programs * Experience with SATCOM, tactical communications, wireless communications, electronic warfare, SIGINT, or spectrum operations * Experience supporting system integration, developmental testing, operational testing, or field deployment activities * Knowledge of communications security (COMSEC), secure communications architectures, or mission systems engineering Compensation Salary Range: $110,000.00-$190,000.00 Final compensation is based on technical skills, experience, education, certifications, and clearance.
