At Verizon, we power and empower how people live, work and play by connecting them to what brings them joy. We do what we love - driving innovation, creativity, and impact in the world. What you will be doing...
As a valuable member of the Asset Retirement and Recovery Team, you will manage both our daily asset recovery operations and high-visibility decommissioning projects. You will act as the operational "glue," ensuring that we enable seamless asset recovery without any delays that could impact dependent teams. Furthermore, you will hold direct accountability for delivering against our aggressive revenue targets.
  • Asset Recovery & Revenue Target Delivery: Holding primary accountability for driving top-line revenue targets. You will manage daily operational asset disposal requests across Verizon business units, maximizing revenue and value recovery by efficiently reselling and recycling network hardware, IT hardware, scrap, and batteries.
  • Operational Excellence: Maintaining strict operational discipline, ensuring 100% adherence to our 48-hour SLA for all ticket requests and resolving escalations rapidly.
  • Decommissioning Execution: Partnering seamlessly with Network Operations, the Decom PMO, Site Restoration teams, and external vendors to execute site decommissions. Ensure "Zero Service Gaps" by executing our asset recovery functions accurately before dependent teams begin their work.
  • Project Oversight: Maintaining meticulous oversight of all asset recovery workflows and decommissioning projects, utilizing detailed trackers and clear documentation to ensure the team never misses a beat.
  • Contracting & Vendor Management: Overseeing daily vendor performance and compliance. Work closely with the Sourcing team to drive contracting efforts, assisting with RFPs and vendor agreements to lock in optimal rates and maximize value recovery.
  • AI & Process Automation: Acting as a technologically savvy innovator by utilizing AI tools to create, build, and fully operationalize automated solutions for the team. Automate and simplify complex logistical processes to drive execution speed, reduce manual workloads, and eliminate internal friction.

What we're looking for...
We are seeking a highly tenacious, organized professional who simply gets things done. You must have a strong commercial mindset, thrive when held to rigorous financial performance standards, and have a proven track record of managing both a daily, high-volume asset recovery pipeline and complex, high-visibility projects. You should be an exceptional team player who breaks down silos and embodies a "One Team" mentality. Furthermore, you must be technically agile, ready to embrace the "Age of AI" as a competitive necessity to build scalable, automated frameworks.
You'll need to have:
  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
  • Experience managing daily operations, asset disposal requests, and reverse logistics while successfully delivering against measurable revenue targets.
  • Experience managing complex projects utilizing detailed trackers, clear notes, and rigorous organizational standards.
  • Experience supporting contracting processes, overseeing vendor performance, and driving compliance.

Even better if you have:
  • Experience in asset lifecycle management, network decommissioning, or sustainability initiatives (e.g., zero landfill programs).
  • Demonstrated ability to partner cross-functionally across engineering, operations, and external vendor ecosystems.
  • Strong technological fluency, specifically with demonstrated experience using AI tools and automation skills to build and operationalize business solutions.
  • A collaborative, team-player mentality with a proven ability to drive cross-functional process improvement.
  • Advanced technical or analytics skills, including familiarity with Python, JavaScript, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), SQL, Alteryx, Tableau, or advanced AI prompt engineering.
  • Experience navigating strategic RFPs/RFQs and maximizing revenue/value recovery.
  • A proven track record of delivering massive financial targets through operational excellence.

If Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every "even better" qualification listed above.
