Project Manager - OSP/Telecom
Location: Metairie, Louisiana
Contract: W2 only, 12 month contract
Pay: $58/hour + optional medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match
Overview
Responsible for fiber outside plant (OSP) design and build, with a focus on telecommunications engineering. The role requires hands-on experience with fiber optic systems, microwave radio systems, and network design, supporting large-scale projects from initiation to completion.
Key Responsibilities

  • Must-Have Fiber outside plant (OSP) design and build experience
  • Proven telecommunications engineering experience with a strong focus on:
  • Outside plant (OSP) fiber optic network design
  • Microwave system engineering
  • Deep knowledge of fiber optic systems, including:
    • Cable types
    • Splicing techniques
    • Connectors
  • Aerial and underground construction practices
  • Experience with microwave radio system design and RF engineering:
  • Path loss calculations
  • Antenna propagation
  • Frequency coordination
  • Familiarity with:
  • MPLS / Carrier Ethernet
  • TDM systems (SONET/SDH, DCS, channel banks)
  • Strong understanding of:
  • IP networking fundamentals
  • Integration between telecom transport and IP-based networks
  • Experience with GIS tools (e.g., ESRI ArcGIS, GE Smallworld), CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation), and network inventory / OSS systems (e.g., ConnectMaster or similar)
  • Knowledge of standards and regulations:
  • National Electrical Safety Code (NESC)
