Code Ninjas Franklin is a game-based learning center where kids build coding, problem-solving, creativity, and technology skills through games, robotics, AI, 3D printing, and hands-on projects.
Our Code Senseis are mentors, coaches, and role models who help every Ninja feel welcomed, challenged, capable, and proud of what they create.
What You Will Do
• Coach Ninjas through self-paced coding curriculum without simply giving them the answer.
• Help students debug, break problems into smaller steps, and build independent problem-solving skills.
• Explain coding and technology concepts in age-appropriate ways.
• Learn and support platforms such as Scratch, JavaScript, Python, Roblox Studio, Unity, Godot, robotics, Minecraft, and AI.
• Create a positive, inclusive environment that encourages curiosity, resilience, creativity, and confidence.
• Adapt your coaching style to different ages, abilities, personalities, and learning needs.
• Follow check-in/check-out, supervision, safety, and incident-reporting procedures.
• Assist with camps, birthday parties, tours, events, and special programs.
• Communicate professionally with students, parents, coworkers, and management.
• Share student progress, concerns, or incidents with the Center Director.
• Participate in required training, meetings, coaching, and feedback.
Great Senseis do not need to know every answer. They stay calm, ask good questions, learn alongside students, and help Ninjas discover answers for themselves.
Required Qualifications
• At least 15 years old.
• Genuine interest in working with children and helping them succeed.
• Clear, patient, respectful communication skills.
• Dependable transportation and reliable attendance.
• Availability during weekday afternoons/evenings and Saturdays.
• Willingness to learn Code Ninjas curriculum, systems, safety standards, and procedures.
• Ability to pass required reference checks and background screening.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring, coaching, camp counseling, babysitting, customer service, or supervising children is helpful. Coursework or experience in computer science, engineering, education, robotics, game development, digital arts, or related STEM fields is a plus. Familiarity with coding, robotics, Minecraft, Roblox, Unity, Godot, or 3D printing is welcomed but not required.

Schedule & Work Environment
This is a part-time role based on enrollment, programs, camps, parties, events, and business needs. Regular after-school and Saturday availability is important. Schedules may vary during school breaks and summer.
The role may require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and occasionally lifting up to approximately 25 pounds, with reasonable accommodation as required by law.
Training & Growth
Paid onboarding and required training are provided, along with ongoing coaching. Growth opportunities may include Senior Sensei, Lead Sensei, or program leadership based on performance and business needs.
