Cold Storage Lumping Working Lead | $22.00/Hour | Warehouse Leadership Role

Job Description
As a Cold Storage Lumping Working Lead, you will serve as the first level of operational leadership while actively working alongside your team unloading cold storage products. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for coordinating labor, monitoring productivity, enforcing safety standards, ensuring quality compliance, and supporting daily operational goals.
The ideal candidate is a working leader who leads by example, thrives in a fast-paced warehouse environment, and can balance physical work with team leadership.
This position operates in a cold storage warehouse, where employees regularly unload cold storage products weighing approximately 18–35 pounds throughout the shift.
Responsibilities
  • Direct daily workflow, assign labor, monitor productivity, and ensure operational goals are met.
  • Work alongside the team unloading cold storage products and building pallets according to customer specifications.
  • Safely lift, carry, and stack cold storage products weighing 18–35 pounds throughout the shift.
  • Enforce safety standards, conduct pre-shift safety checks, and immediately report incidents or unsafe conditions.
  • Monitor quality standards, including pallet accuracy, product damage, labeling, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Track labor efficiency, container completion metrics, downtime, attendance, and communicate shift performance to management.
  • Coach and support team members to achieve productivity, quality, and safety expectations.
  • Assist with training new employees and maintaining a positive, productive work environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Previous warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or lumping experience required.
  • Prior leadership, team lead, or crew coordination experience preferred.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift and move cold storage products weighing 18–35 pounds throughout the shift.
  • Comfortable working in a cold storage environment for extended periods.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer, RF scanner, and productivity tracking experience preferred.
  • Forklift certification is a plus.
