Manager Tree Service information

What does a manager tree service do?

A Manager Tree Service oversees the operations of a tree care business, which includes managing crews, scheduling jobs, ensuring safety compliance, and communicating with clients. They are responsible for coordinating tree removal, pruning, and maintenance services, as well as handling administrative tasks like budgeting and equipment management. The manager also ensures that all work is completed efficiently and in accordance with environmental and safety regulations. Additionally, they may provide estimates for clients and supervise training for staff members.

What are some common challenges faced by a manager tree service, and how can they be addressed?

Managers in tree service often encounter challenges such as coordinating field crews efficiently, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and managing client expectations. Balancing multiple projects while maintaining safety standards requires strong organizational and communication skills. Proactively addressing these challenges involves regular safety training, clear communication with both crews and clients, and using scheduling software to streamline operations. Building a culture of teamwork and ongoing learning also helps teams adapt to changing job demands.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a manager tree service, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Manager Tree Service, you need expertise in arboriculture, project management, and safety regulations, commonly supported by experience in tree care and relevant certifications like ISA Certified Arborist. Familiarity with tree assessment tools, GIS mapping software, and fleet management systems is typically required. Strong leadership, customer service, and problem-solving abilities set top candidates apart in this role. These skills ensure safe, efficient operations, satisfied clients, and effective team performance in a physically demanding and risk-sensitive industry.

Job description

HEAVY EQUIPMENT SALES SPECIALISTSix-Figure Earning Potential | Salisbury, MD & Eastern Shore Territory | Earthborne, Inc.

Earthborne is bringing JCB โ€” one of the most respected names in construction equipment โ€” into a wide-open Delmarva territory, and we're looking for the sales professional who's going to own it. If you know how to build relationships, close deals, and turn a fresh territory into a thriving book of business, this is a six-figure opportunity with your name on it.

Who We Are

For over 50 years, Earthborne Equipment has been a trusted name in construction, forestry, snow removal, and landscaping equipment across Pennsylvania. We're a fast-growing, family-oriented dealership now expanding into the Delmarva region โ€” and this role is central to that growth. As a proud JCB dealer, we give our sales team a product line contractors already know and trust, backed by a company culture built on partnership, not pressure.

Our purpose is simple: build real partnerships with our customers by solving their problems. That's what earns repeat business โ€” and it's what makes Earthborne a place where our team shows up energized every day, not just clocking in.

The Opportunity

You'll be the face of the JCB brand in our best territory in Delaware โ€” Salisbury, MD and the Eastern Shore โ€” an area ripe for growth as we establish our presence. You'll build relationships with contractors, landscapers, and forestry professionals, matching them with the right JCB equipment and solutions to run their businesses better.

What We Offer
  • Six-figure earning potential โ€” competitive base salary plus an uncapped commission plan
  • Company vehicle, laptop, phone, and fuel card
  • Full benefits: Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Paid time off and paid training
  • Ongoing manufacturer (JCB) training programs
  • Flexible hours and a genuinely great culture
What You'll Do
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan to grow Earthborne's customer base across the territory
  • Build lasting relationships with contractors, landscapers, and forestry operations, and understand their equipment needs
  • Present JCB's industry-leading equipment line and Earthborne's value proposition to prospective customers
  • Meet and exceed monthly targets for product demonstrations, cold calls, and new customer growth
  • Stay current on industry trends, new products, and competitor activity to keep Earthborne ahead
  • Partner with marketing and product teams to deliver a seamless customer experience
  • Track activity and results using CRM and sales analytics tools
What You Bring
  • A track record of success in sales, consistently meeting or exceeding targets
  • Existing network and relationships within the New Castle, DE and Cecil County, MD markets
  • Strong cold-calling instincts and the ability to reach decision-makers
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • A self-motivated, positive, results-driven approach to the job
  • Background in Construction, Landscaping, or Tree Service/Forestry sales a strong plus
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • CDL license a plus; experience towing and securing equipment for transport a plus
  • Must reside within the territory
