Job description

Position Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced, full-time, on-premises IT Project Manager to lead the recovery and stabilization of a waste utility's SaaS implementation. This role will drive efforts to restore reliable billing, routing, and scale operations, repair critical system integrations, and improve user adoption across the Solid Waste Services department. The ideal candidate will bring strong project management discipline combined with hands-on coordination skills to stabilize core workflows and transition the system to a sustainable, steady-state operation. 

Responsibilities: 
  • Perform an onsite assessment and create a 12-month remediation plan.
  • Coordinate daily with internal teams and the SaaS vendor to fix defects, improve data quality, and stabilize core workflows.
  • Oversee integration repairs (ERP, payments, GIS, telematics, scale systems).
  • Lead and support system analysts, project managers, and business analysts.
  • Implement structured change, incident, and release management.
  • Provide onsite user support, training, and updated SOPs.
  • Deliver a sustainable support model and transition the system to steady-state. Deliverables

  • Initiate, plan, execute, and control IT projects according to project management standards
  • Define scope, schedule, cost for IT projects including dependencies, risks, concerns, and issues
  • Coordinate meetings, resources, tasks, to accomplish the goals of IT projects
  • Preparing and delivering project status reports
  • Tracking spend to date and comparing to budget
  • Direct project staff and track progress against assignments
  • Prepare and process project change requests
  • Recommend courses of action to get projects back on track
  • Identifying and communicating with project stakeholders
  • Contract Management
    • Develop, review or modify request for proposals
    • Develop, review or modify scopes of work
    • Facilitate proposal evaluations
    • Participate in proposal evaluations
    • Design, propose, test, document scoring models for proposal evaluation
  • Coordinates technical resource teams to estimate effort required to complete tasks and projects
  • Assist with writing Request for Proposals (RFPs)
  • Assist with Contract and Scope of Work negotiations and development

Qualifications:
  • Requires 5-8 years of experience in Project Management
  • Understanding of ERP, payments, GIS, telematics, and/or scale systems.
  • Proven ability to coordinate with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Proven ability to develop a 12-month remediation plan
