The Role

This is a full-time, permanent role based in Manitoba, Saskatchewan or Alberta and is best suited for candidates with grain handling and elevator operators experience who have demonstrated progressive responsibility. 

As Operations Manager Trainee, the successful candidate will gain the knowledge and understanding of the various responsibilities required to successfully step into the role of an Operations Manager. Your role focuses on developing leadership, operational understanding, and communication skills through a blended training approach, including personal mentorship, on-the-job training, e-learning modules, virtual sessions and webinars.

  • Shipping, receiving and logistics
  • Facility maintenance and equipment
  • Quality control and audits
  • Grain procurement and customer service

What You’ll Bring
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience participating in the operation of a grain elevator, with demonstrated progression in responsibilities
  • Working knowledge of the grain industry including grading, elevator equipment and processes, and effective product storage
  • Practical experience in mechanical repair and maintenance
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment, with demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Proficient computer skills with an aptitude for learning and adapting to new software
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Willingness and ability to relocate if an opportunity arises
