Job description:
Working closely with Boston-based convertible team this position is responsible, under direction, for executing global convertible bond trades authorized by portfolio managers or senior traders.Â
Job requirement:
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Reports directly to Senior Trader.
Primarily responsible for global convertible bond trading (includes some off-hour and holiday trading of overseas markets) as well as trading in other asset classes (equities, derivatives, fixed income), as neededÂ
Managing positions via contracts for difference (CFD) and total return swaps (TRS)Â
Sourcing and monitoring borrowÂ
Effectively managing sell-side trading relationshipsÂ
Assisting with trade origination and trade settlementÂ
Monitoring position data for accuracy and compliance
*$10k of the bonus is restricted stock optionsÂ
Identifying procedural deficiencies then working to resolve themÂ
Reading, analyzing and interpreting relevant periodicals, professional journals, or technical proceduresÂ
Writing reports and business correspondenceÂ
Effectively presenting information and respond to questionsÂ
Solving practical problems and dealing with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization existsÂ
Interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule formÂ
Detail-oriented, thorough; does not make errors
Required qualification:Â
Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year College or university, plus 3-5 years trading convertible securities requiredÂ
Experience in settlement of global securities, particularly convertible bonds, equities, and derivatives (CFD, TRS, options, futures, etc.)Â
Advanced proficiency with Bloomberg, Kynex, and ExcelÂ
Familiar with order management systems and desktop trading platformsÂ
Willingness to travel during the on boarding process is required; this will take up less than 25% of the person's timeÂ
Other asset classes (equities, fixed income, derivatives) trading experience
