What You'll Do
The Senior Tax Manager is a leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of the tax function, including compliance, reporting, planning, and strategy. This role involves managing complex client engagements or corporate tax operations, driving business growth, and providing expert technical guidance to a team of tax professionals. The ideal candidate possesses deep tax expertise, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to serve as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives and high-value clients.
Strategic Leadership & Management
  • Provide strategic direction for the tax department or practice area
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a large team of tax professionals (managers, seniors, staff), managing performance, resource allocation, and talent retention
  • Technical Expertise & Compliance
  • Serve as the final reviewer and subject matter expert for highly complex federal, state, local, and international tax returns (corporate, partnership, and individual etc.)
  • Ensure strict compliance with applicable tax laws, GAAP/IFRS standards, and internal control policies.

Tax Planning & Advisory
  • Develop and implement sophisticated tax planning strategies that minimize liabilities and maximize tax efficiency.
  • Provide high-level advisory services to clients or senior management on complex transactions, restructurings, regulatory developments
  • Prepare Complex Tax Returns
  • Including but limited to corporate, partnership, and individual filings, particularly in high risk or specialized situations.
  • Maintain direct involvement in tax preparation to support workload demands, deadlines, and quality control initiatives. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of all tax completion of all tax compliance deliverables.

Business Development (Public Accounting)
  • Lead efforts in identifying new business opportunities, developing proposals, and expanding existing client relationships within the tax advisory space.

What You'll Bring
Education
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
  • CPA certification is mandatory for this leadership level role.
  • Master's in taxation (MTax) is strongly preferred.

Experience
  • A minimum of 8+years of progressive tax experience, with significant time spent management or supervisory capacity, ideally within a large public accounting firm or a corporate tax department of large multinational company.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of demonstrated leadership and people management experience, with a proven ability to develop, motivate, and lead high-performing teams.

Technical Skills
  • Deep expertise in tax law and reporting requirements.
  • Strong proficiency with enterprise level tax technology platforms such as (CCH Axcess, ONESOURCE, SAP Tax) and advanced data analysis tools.

Soft Skills
