Job description


As an Principal Systems Engineer here at Honeywell Aerospace Technologies, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and testing of flight management systems for commercial and defense aircraft. You will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers to develop and test system requirements, perform system integration, and ensure compliance with industry regulations. Your expertise in systems engineering and your passion for innovation will make a significant impact on the aviation industry by designing and implementing flight management systems that meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance.
You will report directly to our Sr Engineering Program Manager and you'll work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide technical leadership to cross-functional teams to define and develop flight management system requirements
  • Design and define flight management system architectures and interfaces
  • Perform system integration and testing to ensure compliance with requirements and industry standards
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
  • Support the certification process for flight management systems
  • Provide support and oversight to less experienced Systems Engineers on the team

Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
  • 8+ years of experience in systems engineering and project leadership.
  • Comprehensive knowledge in systems integration, implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities and ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Experience in leading complex engineering projects and providing technical leadership.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with relevant technologies and industry trends.
  • Knowledge of flight management systems and avionics
