Job description

Air Mechanical Plus is a growing, fast-paced HVAC company expanding our ductwork department. We handle everything from large-scale duct projects to residential maintenance and AC repair across South Florida. We pride ourselves on doing the job right the first time and taking care of our team.

The Opportunity: We are looking for a highly reliable HVAC Ductwork Manager / Lead Technician to step up and lead our duct department. This is a "working manager" role. When the duct department is booming, you will be quoting jobs, reading plans, and managing the crew. When project work slows down, you will be riding around doing maintenance, HVAC repair, and training our junior technicians.

We don't need you to be perfect, but we do need you to be a professional. If you have a strong HVAC/ductwork background, the ability to lead by example, and top-tier communication skills, you can make an incredible living with our base pay plus project incentives.

What You Will Do:

  • Ductwork Leadership: Lead and manage ductwork installation projects. Read basic plans, lay out the job, and ensure the crew executes the work flawlessly.

  • Quoting & Estimating: Quote new duct jobs and take ownership of the department's profitability (earning you 10-20% commission on the jobs you manage).

  • Hands-On Repair: During the slow season, pivot to performing standard AC maintenance, service calls, and repairs.

  • Mentorship: Train and guide our junior technicians, showing them the ropes and leading by example.

  • Professional Communication: Maintain proactive communication with the owner regarding traffic, job delays, or crew issues.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements):

  • Experience: Proven experience in HVAC installation, AC repair, and extensive knowledge of ductwork assembly and layout.

  • Leadership Potential: You don't need 10 years of management experience, but you must be able to read a basic set of plans and manage a crew effectively.

  • Reliability: You show up on time, every time. You don't make the boss call to wake you up.

  • Communication: South Florida traffic is crazy—we get it. But you must be proactive in communicating with the team.

  • Drive: You are hungry to grow a department and maximize your income through our project-based commission structure.
