Established in 2013, Focus Optometry Center provides full-service optometry to families and residents in Kern County of all ages, insurances, visual and medical diagnoses. The practice offers various services, including primary and medical eye care, glaucoma diagnoses, treatment and management, and specialty contact lenses. To help support the practice’s growth, Focus Optometry Center is looking for an additional provider to care for a diverse patient base and work alongside a staff of 7 employees. As Focus Optometry Center is committed to providing personalized care to each patient, the practice uses state‑of‑the‑art vision care technology to diagnose and treat a wide array of eye diseases. The office is well‑appointed with automated optical equipment and behind‑the‑scenes functional technology, including autorefractors, optical coherence tomography, fundus camera, digital phoropter, slit lamp, binocular indirect ophthalmoscope, pachymeter, and visual field technology. Patients enjoy a family‑friendly shopping experience as they browse a wide selection of optical frames and sunglasses from the optical boutique.

About the Optometrist Position

Focus Optometry Center is seeking an Optometrist who is passionate about providing personalized and individualized care to ensure excellent eye health and vision care for all patients. You’ll provide comprehensive eye examinations and care for approximately 16 to 22 patients daily. The office is open Monday through Thursday. The Optometrist will work 32 hours a week, and for the right candidate, a future partnership or ownership opportunity may be available. The practice is offering competitive base pay, and additional benefits will be discussed. To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate leadership, communication, interpersonal skills, and compassion for patient health and safety. The ideal candidate will be ambitious, responsible, service‑oriented, community‑involved, and willing to integrate new techniques and innovations that improve patient care and services.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Optometry license in the state of California.
