Job Title: Solar and Electric Project Manager (with Administrative Duties)

Overview

The Solar and Electric Project Manager oversees the planning, execution, and completion of solar energy and electrical installation projects from start to finish. This role combines technical project management with day-to-day administrative and operational coordination to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Plan, schedule, and manage solar and electrical projects from design through installation and commissioning.
  • Coordinate project scope, timelines, budgets, materials, and labor.
  • Lead on-site teams and subcontractors; ensure all work meets technical and safety standards.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and progress reports for clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage procurement of equipment and materials in collaboration with vendors and suppliers.
  • Track project performance using project management tools and prepare weekly progress updates.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, delays, or compliance issues.

Administrative & Coordination Duties

  • Maintain project documentation, including contracts, permits, invoices, and compliance reports.
  • Support scheduling of team members, equipment, and field crews.
  • Process project-related administrative tasks such as invoices, expense tracking, and payroll support.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project flow.
  • Assist in developing bids, proposals, and cost estimates for new projects.
  • Manage inventory records, procurement logs, and warranty documentation.

Compliance, Safety & Quality

  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes, building regulations, and renewable energy standards.
  • Enforce company policies and safety protocols on-site.
  • Coordinate training sessions and certifications for field staff where required.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Renewable Energy, or related field.
  • 3โ€“5 years of experience managing solar, electrical, or construction projects.
  • Proven knowledge of NEC codes, solar PV systems, and electrical infrastructure.
  • Strong administrative, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana, or similar) and office tools (Excel, Word, Google Workspace).
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and ability to travel to project sites.

Preferred Attributes

  • NABCEP Certification or Electrical License a plus.
