Job description

Saladworks + Frutta Bowls at Union Market is hiring a Store General Manager to help lead daily restaurant operations during busy service periods.

We are building a clean, positive, fast-paced, hospitality-driven team focused on fresh salads, wraps, bowls, smoothies, breakfast, catering, and neighborhood service. This role is ideal for someone with fast-casual, restaurant, café, smoothie, coffee, or hospitality experience who enjoys leading people, staying organized, and delivering a great guest experience.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You will help run shifts, support team members, maintain brand standards, and keep the restaurant operating smoothly.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead shifts during lunch, dinner, and peak service periods
  • Support, coach, and motivate crew members during service
  • Ensure salads, bowls, smoothies, wraps, and other menu items are prepared to brand standards
  • Maintain food quality, cleanliness, speed, and hospitality standards
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures
  • Support cashier, line service, prep, pickup, delivery, and catering order flow as needed
  • Help train new team members
  • Monitor station readiness, restocking, and service flow
  • Handle guest questions or concerns professionally
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures
  • Communicate clearly with management and team members

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous restaurant, fast-casual, café, smoothie, coffee, retail, or hospitality experience preferred
  • Previous leadership, trainer, supervisor, or key-holder experience preferred
  • Positive attitude and professional communication style
  • Reliable, punctual, and organized
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to lead by example and jump in where needed
  • Strong attention to cleanliness, food quality, and guest experience
  • Weekend, lunch, dinner, and peak-period availability required based on business needs

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old due to equipment, safety, opening/closing, and operational requirements
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods
  • Must be able to lift up to 40–50 lbs as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must be comfortable working in a food service environment with cleaning, prep, service, and guest-facing responsibilities

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Range: $21.00–$23.00 per hour, depending on experience, availability, leadership background, and operational fit
  • Hourly, non-exempt position
  • Overtime paid in accordance with applicable law
