Distinction, LLC is a small, Mississippi-based business that was recently awarded operation of the Woodstock Job Corps Center caretaker contract. We are looking for qualified applicants to fill vacant positions beginning October 1, 2025.
About the role
The Safety/Security Officer ensures the safety and security of campus buildings, personnel, and government property, maintaining vigilance to protect assets, prevent unauthorized access, and deter potential security threats in accordance with contract requirements.
What you'll do
  • Monitor campus grounds using surveillance systems to detect and deter security threats.
  • Respond promptly to any alarms or unusual activity observed during patrols.
  • Control and monitor access to the campus to prevent unauthorized entry and ensure the safety of personnel and property.
  • Verify credentials of visitors, contractors, and vendors entering the premises.
  • Identify and address potential security vulnerabilities to uphold the integrity of the campus.
  • Respond to and investigate security incidents, including theft, trespassing, or property damage.
  • Report security incidents to the Site Manager and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Liaise with local law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency medical services as required.
  • Assist with evacuation procedures and emergency drills.
  • Provide first-response support during emergencies until additional help arrives.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate security reports, including patrol logs, incident reports, and visitor logs.
  • Ensure compliance with Distinction standards for all documentation.
  • Conduct regular inspections of campus security systems, such as locks, alarms, and surveillance equipment, to ensure functionality.
  • Provide recommendations for improving campus security procedures and systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of security experience.
  • Strong observational and communication skills.
