The Survey Crew Chief plays a pivotal role in the construction industry by leading and managing survey teams to collect accurate and precise land and construction data. The Crew Chief ensures that all survey work complies with industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications, thereby enabling successful project completion. The Survey Crew Chief utilizes technical skills daily to operate and calibrate sophisticated surveying instruments, ensuring data accuracy critical to project success. Leadership and communication skills are essential for effectively managing crew members, coordinating with project teams, and resolving field issues promptly. Analytical skills enable the interpretation of complex plans and legal documents to guide precise survey execution. Proficiency with surveying software, Basic working knowledge of AutoCAD, and other surveying and office software. Experience with Robotic Total Stations and RTK/GPS equipment, specifically Trimble and Leica units, with TDS, Leica, and Carleson Data Collectors and software. Experience with mapping, and reporting tasks, streamlining project workflows. Additionally, problem-solving and organizational skills support the management of schedules, resources, and compliance with safety standards, fostering a productive and safe work environment. Having the ability to establish and maintain working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, clients of the company and to meet deadlines while working under stress and handling stressful situations.
