Job description

The System Engineer works both independently and as a team player and holds a strong connection to the trade of welding and technology. This position is responsible for implementing and following the Fronius sales strategy by using in-depth and advanced Fronius equipment knowledge to support the sales process. The System Engineer is also responsible for demonstrating the value of Fronius products and services to new and existing customers and to provide equipment support to our regions and customers. The goal of this position is to promote the Fronius brand in the welding industry, and with that increase market share.
Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Supports all aspects of Fronius welding technology and equipment
  • Works independently with existing and prospect customers, providing guidance and support on Fronius Perfect Welding products
  • Supports the sales process with configurations for robotic/automated/manual welding systems
  • Organizes and executes products and configurations prior to and during production start-up at customer location
  • Evaluates client needs to offer products, services, upgrades and overall solutions to their welding challenges
  • Provides e-mail and telephone support for routine and complex queries/problems
  • Understands customer needs and provides suggestions, both verbal and written, for needed spare parts as well as other materials to be stocked by customer
  • Provides customer support: product availability, pricing, quotes, special situations, information for bids, equipment documentation, installations, and equipment troubleshooting
  • Records all customer related activity in CRM platform
  • Programs, troubleshoots, and tests automated systems such as robotics and hard automation
  • Performs/supports installations, commissioning, training at client locations for manual/robotic/automated systems
  • Creates and customizes training documents for new and existing customers
  • Designs and conducts trainings and events for Fronius regional teams and clients
  • Participates in trade fairs and provides product and technical guidance and support at regional and national events
  • Provides technical support for the introduction of products/systems/processes into the market
  • Forwards feedback about the technical aspects of the market, competition and products to TSI (Technical Support International)
  • Leads and supports initiation of modifications/further development of Fronius products
  • Facilitates and leads feasibility studies
  • Deals with challenges and promotes teamwork practices to achieve established goals and objectives effectively and positively
  • Manages executive, mid-management and technical decision makers within a single organization
  • All other duties as assigned by management

Requirements
  • Possess a valid passport, or has the ability to obtain and pay for a valid passport
  • Regular Travel
  • Must be willing and authorized to travel throughout the USA and possibly overseas
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Has a high interest in technology, and in particular enjoys the trade of welding
  • Experience in the field and/or electrical technology/engineering
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in related field
  • Robot programming/integration experience a plus
  • Knowledge of Spanish and/or German a plus
  • Strong knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and/or remotely
  • Candidate must be able to work with a team or alone as the need arises
  • Candidate must have a high degree of problem-solving skills
  • Able to multi-task
  • Demonstrated ability as a team contributor

  • Physical demands of the job include standing, use of hands to manipulate objects, talking, hearing, looking, typing, walking, twisting, and bending,
  • Employees could be requested to lift, carry, reach above the shoulder, stoop, squat, kneel, and crouch.
  • Employees could be required to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Employees will perform duties in an office environment and a field setting.
  • Employees will be occasionally exposed to tripping hazards.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually low to medium.
