Job description

Controls Engineer
General Description:
As a Controls Engineer, you will design, program, and integrate new automation equipment and process control systems to improve efficiency, quality, reliability, cost, and safety. You will lead projects from concept through design (CAD), PLC programming, installation, commissioning, and system integration while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the plant. This role also provides technical expertise and troubleshooting for automation and process control systems to ensure reliable production. The position reports to the Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities:
  • Support and follow the Company Safety Program.
  • Design electrical prints, PLC logic, and electrical panels.
  • Knowledge and working experience troubleshooting a variety of mechanical and electrical applications, such as motors, pumps, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Familiarity with robotic programming, preferably Fanuc.
  • Familiarity with machine vision applications.
  • Work directly with maintenance technicians to install equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production to launch and integrate new equipment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase uptime and process efficiency.
  • Other duties as required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or 5+ years' experience in equivalent work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of PLC systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • AutoCAD electrical design and panel building experience.
  • Familiar with 2D amp; 3D CAD.
  • Ability to read and design electrical schematics
  • Strong knowledge of robotics and applications.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a medium-paced environment.
Job Location:
Supports ArtiiFlex Manufacturing- Wooster, OH. Regular presence in manufacturing facilities.
Equipment Used:
Personal computer with appropriate engineering and office software, PLC programing tools, electrical test equipment, and standard shop tools.
