Job description

Role Overview

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Localization, you will bring AI further into how we build and scale localization as Remitly expands products into new countries and languages. You will own global launch readiness, drive our vendor strategy, and partner closely with internationalization engineering to build out the technical maturity behind that growth. This is a hybrid role requiring 3+ days a week working from our Seattle, WA headquarters.

Responsibilities
  • Own the language and market expansion strategy: evaluate new candidates against customer signal and platform readiness, and maintain a prioritized roadmap.
  • Set the strategy, coverage model, and quality bar for how new country, language, product, and feature launches get validated before they ship.
  • Run user testing and native‑speaker validation across new and existing markets.
  • Translate customer insights and market‑level data into launch decisions, ensuring multilingual and cultural readiness is built from the start.
  • Design AI‑assisted evaluation, generation, and review workflows that expand quality coverage.
  • Partner with internationalization engineering to align priorities with i18n standards and tech stack investments.
  • Manage vendor partnerships and budgets, including performance management and escalations, evolving the model as AI takes on more of the workflow.
  • Define and track metrics that tie this work to business outcomes, and report progress to leadership.
  • Represent localization in cross‑functional planning that supports company‑wide growth and expansion goals.
Qualifications
  • 6+ years in localization management, with hands‑on ownership of localization tooling and systems.
  • Direct experience applying AI or LLMs to build or scale translation, evaluation, or quality workflows.
  • 3+ years launching new products, languages, and countries in a client‑side localization role.
  • Working knowledge of internationalization standards, with experience resolving localizability issues.
  • Experience managing external vendor partners at scale, including budget and performance ownership.
  • Experience turning testing or quality findings into decisions with product and engineering partners.
  • Experience building data‑driven frameworks and processes that scale a program, including defining metrics and driving continuous improvement.
Compensation

The starting base salary range for this position is typically $136,000–$170,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
