We have an immediate opening for a Customer Relations Specialist at our headquarters in Cleveland, OH. This position will report to the Customer Service Manager, and is responsible for interacting and building positive relationships with customers, and providing information in response to inquiries about products and services and to handle and resolve issues. POSITION SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing forging processes and automated systems to improve productivity, reduce downtime, and drive cost efficiency. This role is expected to be on the manufacturing floor a minimum of 60% of the time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on forging/machining operations to increase uptime, efficiency, and throughput.
  • Trouble shoot existing die issues/runs utilizing our discovery tool, forming collaborative teams to fully investigate while providing solutions through die modifications or redesigns, set-up adjustments or production parameter adjustments.
  • Identify and eliminate process waste using Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Drive Root Cause Corrective Maintenance (RCCM) efforts to resolve recurring issues and improve equipment reliability.
  • Lead and facilitate Kaizen events and 5S activities to improve workplace organization and process flow.

Equipment & Process Optimization

  • Focus on optimizing key forging support systems including:
    • Induction furnaces
    • Sawing Operations
    • Material handling systems (i.e. mechanical lift assist systems, conveyors, etc.)
    • Die heating processes
    • Machining operations as applicable
  • Support the development and implementation of Autonomous Maintenance programs in collaboration with production and maintenance teams.
  • Analyze process data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.

Automation & Technical Support

  • Program, implement, and support automation systems for new and existing forging jobs.
  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting and technical support for automation equipment, including robots and integrated systems.
  • Act as the primary liaison between engineering and maintenance for automation-related training and technical support.
  • Collaborate with controls engineering to implement real-time data collection, monitoring systems, and performance dashboards.

Training & Development

  • Train production associates on the safe and effective operation of automation systems, including forging robots.
  • Support and enhance technical training programs in partnership with maintenance and operations teams.
  • Develop standardized work instructions and training materials for automation processes.


QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent engineering related experience).
  • Experience with industrial automation systems (robotics, PLCs, or similar).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

Preferred:

  • Experience in forging or heavy manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with induction heating systems and material handling automation.
  • Experience with data systems, dashboards, or manufacturing analytics tools.
  • Background in RCCM, TPM, or Autonomous Maintenance programs.
