Job description

Position Summary
The Director of Product Management owns the global product vision and roadmap for Teal's UAS platforms and supporting software. This role ensures we are building the right products for operators, aligned with business objectives, and executable by engineering. You will lead a team of Product Managers, and partner closely with Engineering, Program Management, and Business Development in order to translate user needs and mission requirements into clear product priorities. This role will also include a focus on developing regional manufacturing localization and partner co-production whilst driving revenue growth across defense and commercial markets.
This role requires strong judgment, technical fluency, and the ability to make tradeoffs in a resource-constrained environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Product Portfolio Strategy
    • Own product strategy and roadmap across aircraft, payloads, ground control, and supporting software.
    • Define product architectures that support localization, modularization, and controlled technology transfer.
    • Drive platform reuse and derivative product strategies for regional markets.
  • International Productization
    • Lead product localization requirements (regulatory, environmental, language, infrastructure).
    • Partner with compliance to define allowable technical data packages for foreign manufacturing.
    • Enable multi-site manufacturing through standardized BOMs, test strategies, and documentation.
  • Requirements and Lifecycle Management
    • Own product requirements and roadmap governance.
    • Manage lifecycle from concept through international deployment and sustainment.
    • Drive configuration management discipline and variant control.
    • Partner closely with Engineering to ensure product plans are technically sound and executable.
    • Work with Program Management to align product roadmaps with delivery commitments and schedules.
  • Market & Customer Intelligence
    • Translate operator and customer needs into clear, prioritized requirements and user stories.
    • Serve as the voice of the customer internally, informed by direct user engagement, field feedback, and operational data.
    • Define product success metrics and use them to guide decisions and tradeoffs.
    • Inform pricing, packaging, and product positioning in collaboration with Business Development and Sales.
  • Team Leadership & Scaling
    • Lead and develop a team of Product Managers responsible for defining and delivering product requirements.
    • Develop platform owners and international product leads.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Computer Science or related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in product management, systems engineering, or technical leadership including leadership of other product managers.
  • Experience building and shipping complex hardware-software products.
  • Strong understanding of product development lifecycles, from concept through sustainment.
  • Ability to work effectively with engineering teams and understand technical constraints.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort making high-impact decisions with incomplete information.

Additional Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with UAS, aerospace, robotics, autonomy, or ISR systems.
  • Background working with military, government, or public safety customers.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Must be able to walk, stand, and navigate large indoor and outdoor facilities for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials and equipment weighing up to 25 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required in designated areas or when performing specific tasks, in accordance with safety protocols and company policy.
  • May be required to climb ladders, stoop, kneel, or crouch during inspections, maintenance walk-throughs, or emergency response situations.
  • Regular exposure to facility operations including noise, dust, temperature fluctuations, and industrial equipment.
  • Occasional off-hours or weekend work required for emergency facility responses or projects as needed
  • Requires frequent use of a computer and other standard office equipment for documentation, communication, and coordination tasks.
