Position Summary

The Simulation Analysis Engineer is responsible for performing engineering simulation and structural analysis to evaluate product performance under real‑world conditions, including structural loading, vibration, thermal effects, pressure, fatigue, and impact forces. This role supports product development, design optimization, testing, and validation efforts through analytical modeling and simulation tools.

About the Role

This is a full‑time, salaried role that directly reports to the Director of Engineering. It is hybrid – 3 days a week in the New Jersey office and 2 days working from home. The role requires occasional travel of up to 5‑10%, fully paid by the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and refine 3D simulation models from CAD geometry
  • Perform structural, thermal, dynamic, fatigue, and nonlinear analysis as required
  • Define engineering loads, material properties, and boundary conditions for simulation studies
  • Evaluate stress, deflection, stability, vibration, and failure modes
  • Interpret simulation results and identify design risks or performance limitations
  • Recommend design improvements to enhance strength, durability, manufacturability, and performance
  • Support prototype development and validation testing activities
  • Correlate simulation analysis results with physical test data and field performance
  • Assist with engineering troubleshooting and failure investigations
  • Support product development projects from concept through production
  • Prepare technical reports, engineering documentation, and analysis summaries
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, quality, and product management
  • Support code compliance and product qualification activities where applicable
Software and Technical Tools
  • SolidWorks Simulation
  • 3D CAD modeling and engineering drawing interpretation
  • Engineering analysis and reporting tools
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, structural engineering, materials engineering, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience performing finite element analysis and engineering simulations
  • Strong understanding of mechanics of materials, structural behavior, and engineering fundamentals
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Preferred Experience
  • Experience supporting product development and prototype testing
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and design‑for‑manufacturing principles
  • Experience evaluating products for structural performance and reliability
  • Knowledge of applicable engineering codes, standards, and testing methodologies
Work Environment
  • Combination office, engineering, and testing environment
  • Cross‑functional collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and field support teams
  • Hands‑on involvement with prototype evaluation and product testing as required
Key Success Indicators
  • Accurate and reliable engineering analysis
  • Improved product performance and durability
  • Reduction of design‑related failures and field issues
  • Effective support of testing and product validation activities
  • Timely completion of engineering analysis and project deliverables
  • Clear and actionable technical communication across teams
Details
