The Senior Manager, Site Inventory (Raw Materials & Work-in-Process) is a strategic people manager responsible for optimizing raw material (RM) and work-in-process (WIP) inventory performance. This role leads a team of inventory planning and analytics professionals focused on balancing inventory, service levels, operational continuity, and inventory health.
The Senior Manager partners closely with Supply Planning, Operational Scheduling, Manufacturing, Procurement, Finance, and Site Leadership teams to identify and execute opportunities that improve inventory productivity, enhance forecast accuracy, reduce excess and obsolete inventory, and strengthen overall inventory governance.
This position requires a highly visible leader with strong executive presence who can effectively communicate insights, recommendations, risks, and strategic initiatives to Director-level and senior leadership audiences.Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
  • Inventory Strategy & Optimization
    • Develop and execute strategies to optimize raw material and WIP inventory while supporting operational and customer service requirements.
    • Lead inventory segmentation, safety stock management, and inventory policy development.
    • Identify opportunities to improve inventory productivity through data analytics, process improvements, and automation.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on working capital reduction, inventory turns improvement, and inventory risk mitigation.
    • Monitor inventory health metrics and develop corrective action plans for emerging risks.
    • Reduce excess, obsolete, and at-risk inventory.
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead, coach, and develop a team of inventory planners, analysts, and inventory optimization professionals.
    • Establish team priorities, performance objectives, and development plans.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, analytical rigor, and continuous improvement.
    • Provide leadership and direction on complex inventory challenges and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with Supply Planning and Operational Scheduling teams to align inventory strategies with manufacturing plans.
    • Support operational forecast development, submission, and integrity processes.
    • Collaborate with Procurement, Manufacturing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Site Leadership to resolve inventory issues and improve performance.
Data Analytics & Insights
  • Utilize data analytics to identify inventory optimization opportunities and develop business cases.
  • Lead inventory reviews and present actionable insights to leadership teams.
  • Develop reporting, dashboards, and key performance indicators to monitor inventory performance.
  • Drive prioritization of inventory improvement opportunities based on business impact and risk.
Governance & Executive Communication
  • Present inventory strategies, risks, performance updates, and recommendations to Director-level+ leadership
  • Lead governance forums and inventory review meetings.
  • Escalate critical inventory, supply, and operational risks with recommended mitigation plans.
  • Support annual operating plan (AOP) development and inventory planning activities.
Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of relevant experience and 5+ years of leadership experience or a Advanced degree with 5+ years of relevant experience with 5+ years of leadership experience.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with end-to-end inventory optimization from Raw Material through Finished Goods
  • Blue Yonder experience

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

PR) locations (USD):$128,800.00 - $193,200.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
