The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality behavioral healthcare, helping individuals overcome challenges, and improve their mental wellness.

About the Organization

At Unity Point Diagnostic and Counseling Center, we pride ourselves on being one of the fastest-growing behavioral health practice groups in the country. Located in vibrant Virginia Beach, Virginia, we have committed ourselves to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for our employees. Through various recognition programs and robust communication methods, we strive to cultivate a sense of community among our therapists, ensuring a collaborative space for professional growth and development.

Work Environment

This position is entirely remote, allowing for enhanced flexibility in your work schedule. You will have the autonomy to conduct therapy sessions from the comfort of your home while remaining closely integrated within our multidisciplinary team. Our technology-driven approach means you'll be equipped with the latest tools, including Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, ensuring effective and efficient patient management and care coordination.

Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, your core responsibilities will include:

  • Providing tailored therapy strategies for clients, which may involve conducting comprehensive assessments and evaluations to ascertain their mental health needs.
  • Delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions to individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring every session adheres to best practices.
  • Employing various therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and solution-focused brief therapy to address diverse client issues.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team consisting of psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers to deliver comprehensive and cohesive care to our clients.
  • Maintaining accurate and current clinical documentation in compliance with legal requirements and ethical standards.
  • Engaging in continuous professional development, attending workshops and training to stay informed about the latest advancements in mental health practice.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our client base is diverse, encompassing individuals from various backgrounds and age groups, each facing unique behavioral health challenges. You will have the opportunity to work with clients dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, substance misuse, and more. Our holistic approach ensures that every patient receives personalized care that addresses their specific needs.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Active and unrestricted licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia.
  • At least two years of counseling experience in a clinical context, demonstrating proficiency in delivering therapeutic interventions.
  • A solid understanding of legal and ethical standards governing mental health practice.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to build rapport with a wide range of clientele.
  • Experience with EMR software, ensuring seamless documentation and patient tracking.
Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, we prefer candidates with specialization in specific areas such as family therapy, couples therapy, trauma-informed care, or substance misuse counseling. Such expertise will enhance the quality of care we provide and contribute to better outcomes for our clients.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 70,000 to 110,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional benefits include:

  • Generous sign-on bonus.
  • Flexible work schedules, allowing you to balance personal commitments with professional responsibilities.
  • Unlimited earning potential through bonuses and incentives.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, a 401(k) plan with matching, paid parental leave, Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), and more.
  • A collegial work environment focused on collaboration and mutual support.
